Modeling change, interview at RGB 360

In the July issue of the digital magazine RGB 360, titled Women Beyond the Glass Ceiling, I have the honor of sharing a piece of my story and my journey as an artist.

I arrived in Mexico in 2006, from my hometown Florence, Italy, to work as a special effects makeup artist in cinema, after collaborating on productions such as Mel Gibson's Apocalypto. I never imagined that, amidst molds, materials, and transformed bodies, I would find my true voice in sculpture.

My training began in painting, but I never felt entirely at home in front of a canvas. It was in three-dimensionality, in direct contact with volume, form, and space, where I found a sense of belonging, like a blanket that accompanies me.

For me, the body is a universal language. Through it, I can speak of identity, contradictions, resilience… and of the stories that unite us all. Each work is a silent, yet profound, conversation between the creator and the viewer.
