HOY SOY MÁS FUERTE is a bronze sculpture of a woman with a jaguar costume.
The title means, in Spanish, “Today I am stronger”, alluding to feeling powerful.
The jaguar is one of the sacred powerful animal of ancient cultures. We not always feel strong: sometimes we feel overwhelmed by things, and it’s a great sensation to be empowered.
This piece is part of the collection Disfraces e Identidad (Customs and Identities), where Francesca explores different aspect of the person identity, and how people wear roles and personalities according to the situation.
In this serie, the artist wonders what is the true self, and what is a lie we tell other and the society.
This is a unique piece and there is no other like it.
