LA RANA LOTERÍA is a resin sculpture of a man with frog costume facing a “real” frog.
The title means, in Spanish, “The frog lottery”. It was specially made for a project of the Lottery in Galería Oscar Roman.
The lottery game, widely spread in Mexico, is a game of chance that consists of a bunch of 54 cards with drawings that represent figures similar to tarot.
This piece is part of the collection Disfraces e Identidad (Customs and Identities), where Francesca explores different aspect of the person identity, and how people wear roles and personalities according to the situation. In this serie, the artist wonders what is the true self, and what is a lie we tell other and the society.
This piece is hand painted with oil colors. This is a unique piece and there is no other like it.
