Mi participación en Italy 35 X 35 Art Project

A finales del 2020, en plena pandemia, el museo Copelouzos Family Art Museum me buscó para formar parte de un proyecto llamado 35 x 35 cm, donde un lienzo de estas dimensiones me fue enviado para intervenir como yo quisiera; con la idea de reunir en un libro diferentes obras de artistas exponiendo temas referentes a la pandemia. 

El día de hoy me llega el libro llamado Italy 35 x 35 Art Project y descubro que existen más libros así, pero de diferentes países.

En estas imágenes les muestro la pieza con la que participé y la pagina que me dedicaron. Me siento muy agradecida con el museo por haberme encontrado e involucrado en este proyecto. Ya estamos gestando un nuevo proyecto, también con un enfoque en la pandemia.

Francesca Dalla Benetta es una escultora italiana viviendo en México. Después de diez años trabajando como maquilladora en la industria del cine, ahora es una dedicada artista de tiempo completo. Su trabajo se caracteriza por anatomías y formas mixtas. Rostros y cuerpos humanos se combinan con diferentes texturas, pieles y elementos, dando lugar a seres híbridos y fantásticos. A través de cuerpos insólitos, extraños y surrealistas, sus obras se centran en los problemas de la transformación de la identidad, el sentido de pertenencia, la autopercepción y los sueños.

Como escultora, decidí realizar un trabajo tridimensional especial para este proyecto. Quería algo fuera del lienzo. Me encanta crear flores porque para mí representan el círculo de la vida de manera perfecta: nacen de la tierra, alimentadas por los elementos de la muerte. Son hermosas y tan frágiles, duran poco tiempo pero las asociamos con la alegría y tantas cualidades positivas, que quería que surgieran del corazón, como representación del alma humana.

At the end of 2020, in the midst of the pandemic, the Copelouzos Family Art Museum sought me out to be part of a project called 35 x 35 cm, where a canvas of these dimensions was sent to me to intervene as I wanted; with the idea of ​​bringing together different works by artists in a book exposing themes related to the pandemic.

Today I got the book called Italy 35 x 35 Art Project and I discovered that there are more books like this, but from different countries.

In these images I show you the piece with which I participated and the page that they dedicated to me. I am very grateful to the museum for having found me and making me part of this project. We are already developing a new project, also with a focus on the pandemic.

Francesca Dalla Benetta is an Italian sculptor based in Mexico. After ten years working as a makeup artist in the film industry, she is now a dedicated full-time artist. Her work is characterized by anatomies and mixed forms. Faces and human bodies are combined with different textures, skins and elements, giving rise to hybrid and fantastic beings. Through unusual, strange and surreal bodies, her works focus on the problems of transformation identity, the sense of belonging, self-perception and dreams.

As a sculptor, I decided to realize a special tridimensional work for this project. I wanted something outside the canvas. I love creating flowers because to me they represent the circle of life in a perfect way: they are born from the soil, nurtured by death elements. They are beautiful and so fragile, they last just a short period of time but we associate them with joy and so many positive qualities, that I wanted them to rise from the heart, as representation of the human soul. The title in Spanish means “Heart and Flowers”.
