The sculpture depicts a serene and majestic female figure with a flowing headdress suggesting ascension, and a bird in flight on her chest symbolizing freedom and transcendence. The stylized wings, featuring golden and dark details, create a contrast between elevation and weight, while the minimalist base draws attention to the upper elements.
This piece is part of the "Icaros" collection, inspired by the myth of Icarus and fallen angels, exploring the desire for transcendence and its inherent risks. Through this work, Dalla Benetta reflects on the struggle between ascent and fall, and the duality of human ambition.
