Artwork Details

Remiel is an original contemporary figurative bronze sculpture by Italian artist Francesca Dalla Benetta, based in Mexico City. This series presents winged figures inspired by the myth of Icarus, fallen angels, and human ambition. The collection explores the tension between the desire for transcendence and the risks of pursuing lofty goals.

In this piece, the figure wears black wings and an unruly crown of bronze flames, evoking both fire and demonic horns. A golden chain delicately binds her body, symbolizing inner conflict. Her downward gaze and restrained pose suggest introspection, balancing the power of her wings with a sense of fragility.

Through ICAROS, Dalla Benetta reflects on the limits of aspiration and the duality of ambition, questioning the balance between freedom and consequence.
