A VECES NO QUIERO SER YO is a resin sculpture of a woman with a cat custome.
The title means, in Spanish, “sometimes I don’t want to be me”, alluding to refuse having a role as a person: we are friends, sons, employee, good, bad, happy, mad… we are different depending of the circumstances and the person we are dealing with.
This piece is part of the collection Disfraces e Identidad (Customs and Identities), where Francesca explores different aspect of the person identity, and how people wear roles and personalities according to the situation. In this serie, the artist wonders what is the true self, and what is a lie we tell other and the society.
This piece is hand painted with oil colors.
