Resin and inks, iron
LIFE AND DEATH is a resin sculpture of an old man with different masks. Every mask has an expression and they can be changed in front of the character. Masks represents different moment and emotions of life experience.
One of the masks is a skull, which represent death. The piece is a reflection about the cicles of life and how nature works: the mas is old, but the masks are of young faces, and the mask of the death has a special position behind the shoulders of the man, as it was always imminent of a face sustained by two hands.
It is a beautiful balance because you can separate face and hands (that just stay because of the shape) but the arms stay solid on the iron surface because of magnets.
This piece was originally a spontaneous vision inspired by the fantasy of the artist.
The interpretation is that everyone looks for his own inner balance in relationship to self and to environment. It is a personal and intimate journey.
This is a unique piece, there are no other equals.
