DEFRAGMENTACION II is a sculpture of a female figure in bronze, composed by 9 different bodies.
To create this unique piece, Francesca used 9 women bodies, carefully sectioned and displaced so each segment could belong to a different body, with different positions.
Then, with a lot of patience, the bodies were reunited to create a unique and different body, where nothing really coincides neither by position nor by size.
The piece retains many of the supports that are normally temporary in holding the wax piece prior to casting.
The work is a symbol of rebuilding from different situations and experiences, consciously choosing what works and what doesn't, discarding parts, using others and conserving the supports that have worked.
The patina is experimental and casual, with an aged look, as if time had created it spontaneously.
