MORFEO is a small resin sculpture of an old man with a smile and closed eyes. In Greek mythology, Morfeo was the god of dreams.
It is a series of pieces created for the project Anatomie del Sogno (anatomy of dreams), based on fantastic creatures and how the artist envisions dreams.
In this collection, most of the pieces are mixed media, and Francesca experiments new shapes and combinations: wood, resins, epoxic clay, varnishes, oil paint.
The artist ventures into the themes of dreams, one of the main topics of her career, presenting a series of fantastic characters in a dreamy and introspective attitude.
Through her figurative proposal, Dalla Benetta explores the dream dimensions, in a meticulous dissection of the dream, as if she wanted to understand, perceive, touch, smell, see them, in search of a new multisensory dimension. In dreams the purest dimension of being is revealed, without rational filters, and the most intimate layers that compose us are revealed.
Francesca uses her art as a means to explore herself, and to understand the nature of her own identity, of spiritual transformation and evolution, of the sense of belonging, of loneliness, of the connection between human beings, with the cosmos and with The Divine.
