There are stories that take years to begin.

I was born in Italy, but it was in Mexico where I found my voice as a sculptor and where I have built, piece by piece, the path that today allows me to make a living doing what I love. There is something deeply symbolic about how this new chapter connects those two worlds in such an unexpected way.

I never imagined it would all start with a simple visit to my studio. A few months ago, I welcomed Gunter González during one of my Open Studio events. We walked through the workshop, talking about art, processes, and materials. Before leaving, he decided to purchase one of my sculptures. Sometime later, he returned for a second piece, and eventually enrolled in one of my sculpture courses. What began as a relationship with a collector gradually evolved into a friendship shaped by long conversations about creativity, design, and art. It was only then that I learned Gunter was part of the Emporio Armani team.

Between classes and coffees, an idea emerged that seemed too ambitious to ever come to life: creating an original, unprecedented sculpture for the brand. Far from remaining just an idea, the project began to take off. Meetings followed, along with sketches, proposals, and an ongoing exchange of ideas with teams in Mexico, New York, and Italy, gradually giving shape to a work conceived specifically for Emporio Armani.

Today, I am sculpting that piece in bronze. It will embark on a tour across several of the brand's boutiques in Mexico, accompanied by masterclasses, special events, and an experience celebrating the intersection of art and Italian design. Beyond the scale of the project, what excites me most is its personal meaning.

After nearly two decades of building my career in Mexico, I never imagined that the road back to my roots would unfold so naturally. This collaboration represents far more than a professional milestone: it is the point where the two countries that have shaped my life and my craft unexpectedly meet once again.

And to think it all started with something as simple as opening my studio door.
