LA CHICA Y EL PULPO is a bronze sculpture representing a young woman with an octopus hat.
The title in Spanish means The Girl and The Octopus.
Francesca is intrigued by octopuses, they are such amazing creatures, they can squeeze themselves into tiny holes, change shape and color, they are a great metaphor for transformation, change and self challenging. Francesca has different pieces related to octopus, in different sizes and materials.
This piece has a black, green, brown and touches of white patina. The black patina is made from the green one, after the burning process, so magical and mystical.
Please remember that this piece is part of a series of 6, and the patina (colors) may vary a little from piece to piece (I always try to make them the most similar, but part of the patina’s beauty is exactly their uniqueness).
