LA GIOSTRA is a bronze sculpture of a chubby winged man.
The word Giostra means Carrousel in Italian. The main character is riding a horse toy in a playful attitude, with a serene expression on his face. He seems to be in peace with himself, enjoying life.
He is dressing a costume, as a metaphor for the importance of playing and not taking life seriously. The small backpack wings represents the importance of flying, as a modern Icarus, and always reach our seared life.
This piece has a black patina with golden details, polished to reveal the natural bronze color. The black patina is made from the green one, after the burning process, so magical and mystical.
Please remember that this piece is part of a series of 6, and the patina (colors) may vary a little from piece to piece (I always try to make them the most similar, but part of the patina’s beauty is exactly their uniqueness).
The size includes the base.
