TRASFORMAZIONI is a bronze sculpture of a chubby man with many flowers.
The title means Transformation in Italian. In the artist conception, transformation begins from inside out. In this piece, flowers are the symbol of the change, and the fact they emerge from books and the head of the character, means that change origins from knowledge, especially from self knowledge.
Transformation means a deep understanding oneself and to take a conscious choice to twist one’s life, making into something different and renewed. The calm expression of the man’s face refers to the acceptance beyond self judgment.
This piece has a black and green patina, the classical bronze colors.
The black patina is made from the green one, after the burning process, so magical and mystical. Please remember that this piece is part of a series of 6, and the patina (colors) may vary a little from piece to piece (I always try to make them the most similar, but part of the patina’s beauty exactly their uniqueness).
